Contact them before you head out since the documents have to arrive 72 hours before export or else they would not allow you to take your car to canada, their General Phone: (406) 432-5522 ask them if they have received the title(MS0), worksheet with your purchase order and if it is okay to export. Then drive up or turn around and go to Cdn customs to pay your GST and AC fees, and get your Form1 and receipt for tax.

Very strict about documents - If faxed, requires export worksheet, purchase order, and Signed Front and Back of MSO. (Some other crossings are less strict and don't require the MSO to be signed until you physically arrive at the border.)

For Washington Blaine crossing

To arrive at the export office, exit on the I-5 on truck crossing or else you will be heading straight to Canadian Border Customs, which you dont want to do, or else you might be fined $500US for not exporting it properly.

For Quebec crossing at Lacolle,

They also need 72hrs to process the documents.
For the Canada side of the border, meaning the Lacolle import office, they actually send the paperwork directly to the RIV for you, and they tell you that you should receive it in about 10 days.

Same applies for Philipsburg (Quebec) P.S.: Highgate Springs export office (VT) opens from 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday

For Queenston/Lewiston crossing
This is the only crossing on the Niagara River (between Ontario and New York) that can process both exports from the US and imports to Canada. The US side only processes cars Monday to Friday up to 4:00 P.M. local time. Canada Customs can process cars 24/7. US Customs will accept faxed documents 72 hours prior to export. The US export office is the first building on the left as you leave the US but requires you to cross 12 inspection lanes coming toward you. For Ogdensburg crossing south of Ottawa
Documents must be devivered to Port Of Entry-Ogdensburg(no faxes accepted).

Requires original and 2 copies to be dropped off 72 hours prior to crossing.

Documents can be dropped off anytime (24-7), but cars can only cross Mon-Fri 8-4pm.
